Our Commitment
Preserving the magic of the Bay of Plenty,
from ancient roots to a zero-carbon future.
Cultural Values
Kaitiakitanga: Guardians of the Waterways
We operate as Kaitiaki, guardians of the land, rivers, and skies that hold profound cultural significance. Rooted in Manaakitanga, our team actively preserves these delicate ecosystems, inspiring every guest to paddle with deep respect for the environment.
Environment
Preserving Our Taonga
The lakes, canyons, and rivers we traverse are Taonga, treasures and thriving habitats for local wildlife. We actively protect these waters by utilising eco-friendly, low-footprint materials and relying on the cleanest energy source available: pure, human paddle power.
Waimarino Group
The Power of the Sun: A Zero-Carbon Ecosystem
Our commitment to the environment is driven by the wider Waimarino Group. Powered by a massive onsite solar infrastructure, our commercial operations generate enough clean, renewable energy to offset 100% of our power requirements. Every ray of surplus energy is fed back into the grid, with 100% of those profits directly funding community initiatives and youth development.
Waimarino Education Trust
Electrifying the Future
Sustainability doesn't stop at the water's edge. In partnership with the Waimarino Education Trust, our regional footprint is driven by clean energy. From eco-conscious guest transfers to daily school pickups for our community youth programmes, our shared Electric Vehicle fleet ensures that our footprint on New Zealand's roads is as clean as our paths through the canyons.
"We do not inherit the land from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children."
