Terms and Conditions
Bookings
- There is a two-person minimum for all Evening Kayak tours to operate.
- There is a four-person minimum for all Daytime Kayak tours to operate.
- There is a six-person (4 Adults and 2 Children) minimum for all Big Kanu tours to operate, except when otherwise stipulated.
Payment in full at the time of booking is required to ensure availability on the tour and because tours require preparation in advance. A booking will only be confirmed once full payment is received.
Cancellations: Individuals and Groups Under 10 People
Waimarino reserves the right to cancel the tour on the day due to weather or any safety concerns. If this is done, the tour will be postponed or a full refund (less transaction fees) will be provided.
For peak season bookings between 26 December and the end of February, if a cancellation is made more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure, a full refund (less transaction fees) will be made with consultation of Waimarino management. A postponement to another date with 48 hours' notice will not incur any charges.
For off-peak dates (1 March to 24 December), if a cancellation is made more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure, a full refund (less transaction fees) will be made with consultation of Waimarino management. A postponement to another date with 24 hours' notice will not incur any charges.
Under no other circumstances will we offer a refund. If the buyer fails to arrive for departure without notifying Waimarino before the stated departure time, the full balance of the tour payment will be withheld. Payment for the tour constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Cancellations: Groups Over 10 People
Waimarino reserves the right to cancel the tour on the day due to weather or any safety concerns. If this is done, the tour will be postponed or a full refund will be provided.
If a cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the scheduled departure, a full refund (less transaction fees) will be made with consultation of Waimarino management. A postponement to another day will not incur any charges.
If a cancellation is made no less than 7 days prior to the scheduled departure, a full refund (less transaction fees) minus a NZ$150 administration fee will be made with consultation of Waimarino management. A postponement to another day will not incur any charges.
Under no other circumstances will we offer a refund. If the customer fails to arrive without notifying Waimarino before the stated meeting time, the full balance of the tour payment will be withheld. Payment for the tour constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Health and Safety
If you have cold, flu, or Covid-19 symptoms prior to visiting Waimarino, please stay home and call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting tested. In the event that you cannot attend the tour due to being unwell, our standard cancellation policy applies. Payment of your ticket constitutes acceptance of these health and safety procedures.
Gift Vouchers
Vouchers are issued by Waimarino Group and can be used for the purchase of specified goods or services. Each voucher has a unique code that must be presented at the time of redemption, and may have unique terms specified at the time of issuance.
Vouchers can be purchased online through our official websites or in person at participating Waimarino Group locations. They may be redeemed for eligible products as specified on the voucher.
Each voucher has a specified validity period, after which it expires. Expired vouchers will not be honoured, extended, or refunded under any circumstances. Vouchers are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, resold, or transferred to another person or entity. Treat your voucher like cash; lost or stolen vouchers will not be replaced or refunded except where required by law.
Waimarino Group reserves the right to refuse or cancel any voucher suspected of fraudulent activity, and to modify or terminate the voucher programme at any time with or without notice. These terms are subject to change without notice; the most current version is always available on this page.
These terms are governed by the consumer protection law of the jurisdiction in which the voucher was purchased. For questions about a voucher or these terms, please contact our office.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sale Vouchers
Valid for Big Kanu Glowworm Tour and Big Kanu Starlight Tour only. These vouchers are not to be redeemed on public holidays or from 25 December 2024 to 10 January 2025. If redeemed within an excluded period, you will be required to pay the difference between the discounted and advertised price, or your booking will be cancelled and the voucher may be redeemed on another eligible date.
If passes are purchased for a specific date, no date changes are available. For flexibility, we recommend purchasing a gift card instead. Valid for the number of people stipulated on the coupon and must be used in one visit while stocks last. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. No refunds, cashback, or extensions under any circumstances. If you cannot attend within the redemption period, we recommend gifting the voucher to another person.
Online booking is recommended so you can redeem your voucher, complete your pre-arrival risk disclosure form, and confirm availability. If you require assistance redeeming a voucher, please call our office. Standard Waimarino Kayak Tours terms and conditions also apply.
